I'm looking for a way to shut down my system with out having to click on
"START" on the task bar.I have a touch screen monitor and the program I'm
running requires to hide the task bar and i would like to remove the
keyboard. Any ideas?
Thanks for your time.

Shutdown.exe is what you are looking for. It's in
Software\System\System Services\Base\Misc Command Line Tools.

These folders don't seem to exist? I tried a search for shutdown.exe and it
comes up with nothing.

That's where it in in my sp2 database. Do a new filter where
"component contains the following file: [shutdown]".

Just to clarify, Kleith: Glenn is referring to the component database
branches you can browse in Target Designer. If you still can't find
'shutdown.exe' in your database, you may need to adjust your "minimum
visibility" to see it. Go "Tools >> Options" and then click on the
"Advanced" tab. Set the Minimum Visibility field to 100 and click OK. You
should be able to see that item now.

Kleith,

In xpe you have few ways to shutdown/reboot your system.

1. By using shutdown.exe
2. By uysing fba.exe with -reboot -shutdown swithces.
3. By using xpepm.exe or xpepm.dll
4. By using Win32 API or native API functions.

This all has been discused here many times so you might want to use google groups to search this wast news group archive:
